As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll work across a modern stack that includes Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Data Lake, and Scala-based back-end systems. You will play a central role in designing and implementing robust data pipelines, working with high-volume structured and unstructured data, and integrating advanced contextual intelligence using Quantexa.
You will:
Build scalable data architectures and back-end pipelines in Azure (Data Lake, Synapse, Fabric)
Work with Power BI to enable reporting, dashboarding, and data modeling for client insights
Engineer robust data integration and processing systems using Scala, Spark, Hadoop, and Elastic
Contribute to and optimize CI/CD pipelines and production-grade environments
Engage directly with clients on fraud, compliance, and financial crime use cases
Cross-train into Quantexa, learning its powerful graph-based data models and contextual network analytics
Collaborate closely in Agile teams with Data Scientists, Solution Architects, and Business Analysts
We’re looking for an engineer who is passionate about solving real-world problems using advanced data technologies and ready to grow into the next generation of platforms:
Must-have:
Proven experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Elasticsearch, etc.)
Experience coding in Scala or strong proficiency in Java or Python
Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams
Knowledge of Azure, Fabric, Data Lake, or Power BI
Ability to design and deploy data pipelines for ETL, analytics, and machine learning
Strong consulting or stakeholder-facing skills
Bonus:
Experience with Quantexa or willingness to cross-train
Knowledge of Microsoft DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling
Understanding of sustainable finance, ESG, or financial crime analytics
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, STEM, or a related field
~5+ years of experience in data engineering or consulting
Prior experience in financial services, digital transformation, or regulatory change is highly valued
